Mica is blown away by his iPad

Mica is a young carer aged 15 years and helps care for his brother Josiah aged 6 years who has Down Syndrome and Autism.

His mother feels that he is under a lot of pressure as he looks after Josiah for 2 hours every morning and 2 hours in the evening while she drives a school bus. He showers and dresses him in the morning for school, prepares his lunch, gives him medication and walks him to school.  Josiah needs constant supervision.

Mica struggles with his school assignments at home as Josiah is very demanding and noisy.  To assist Mica,  Thanks for Caring presented him with an iPad and he was “blown away”!  It has been very beneficial and has enabled him to connect to the school system, talk through iMessage directly to teachers and complete his assignments.
