Jane and TerryJane is a single mother of four children who works part-time as a theatre nurse.  Jane is the sole carer of two children Lachlan aged 13 years and Lucy 16 years both of whom suffer from anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).  She has had a difficult few years and in particular last year when Lachlan was unable to attend school because of his condition.   Both children are at present under medication for their OCD.   Over the years  there has been disharmony and much stress placed on the whole family.

The demands of Jane’s role as a sole carer has forced her to reduce her working hours resulting in financial hardship.  Jane’s caring role is 24/7 and will be well into the foreseeable future.

Jane is also anxious to make people aware of what it’s like to be a carer, especially a carer of two young children with a disorder and how it affects her, her lifestyle, her work, other members of the family and friends.  She feels that most people are not able to understand what it can be like.

We assisted Jane with the payment of school fees for Lachlan to ease her financial burden at least for a short term.
